Mr. Mitchelson is endorsed by the JCCC Faculty Association, and The Main Street Coalition. Additionally,  the Kansas City Star, in an article dated Feb. 17, 2007 said: "...Lynn Mitchelson and Jon Stewart worked hard to obtain a fair and thorough investigation [regarding former President Charles Carlson]. They deserve voters' support." The article went on to state that "...as Chairman, he has taken steps to enhance communication and openness..." "Current Chairman Lynn Mitchelson and Trustee Jon Stewart deserve to be re-elected. They are committed to maintaining the college's stature as an excellent institution."
